Located in the Plaza Cívica, one of the main tourism areas of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, the San Marcos Cathedral has been an iconic building in the city for more than five centuries.
“Fantasía Chiapaneca” is an audiovisual show that is projected onto the facade of this cathedral. The show celebrates the cultural and natural richness of Chiapas, highlighting the animals that are emblematic of the state’s jungles and forests, such as the jaguar and the quetzal, as well as the state’s archaeological and colonial heritage and the beauty of Chiapanecan handicrafts The experience concludes with the traditional parachico dance, inspiring feelings of pride and belonging in each viewer.
The show has run for more than six years, encouraging and impressing both local and international tourists.
