The Sea of Cortez holds one third of the world's marine mammals, 900 species of fish, and more than 170 types of seabirds — all of it in waters surrounded by arid desert. Jacques Cousteau called it "the world's aquarium," and the currents that feed it are the reason hundreds of thousands of creatures converge there in a single, recurring instant. That convergence — that miracle in motion — is what we built.
Mar de Cortés is a multisensory immersive experience designed not to show you that ecosystem, but to let you cross into it. From the threshold of stillness that opens the journey to the participatory sanctuary that closes it, every moment is built for visitors to leave feeling part of something larger than themselves. 360° floor-to-ceiling projection, sand underfoot, layered sound design, and a final encounter where part of the sea stays with each person who enters.
Mar de Cortés is an original Cocolab production created for Discovery Center at The Place at Cabo, Marina of Cabo San Lucas — designed from the start for durability and available for international touring.
