Munet Niños began with a conviction held by the CFE: that children deserve a place of their own to understand the energy that powers their world. Our proposal was a single idea — that they learn it by playing.
What grew from that is a playground where children aged 4 to 9 trace the journey of electrical energy with their bodies, across three moments. In Generation, an interactive sun wall, a forest, and stations for solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, nuclear, and thermal power reveal that electricity is born from natural resources. In Transmission & Distribution, climbable high-tension towers and a connecting bridge turn energy's journey into a physical challenge — the child crosses from tower to tower the same way electricity travels to reach the city. In Efficient Consumption, a house and its circuits show how energy arrives home and why it's worth caring for. It all opens in an introductory room of six screens that answers the question underneath everything: what is energy?
The design draws on theories of childhood development and symbolic thinking: scale, proportion, and accessibility shaped for children, in a language of geometry, color, and light inspired by building blocks. Munet Niños is Cocolab's answer to the CFE's vision — a space where understanding energy and playing with it are one and the same.
