“On! Handcrafted Digital Playgrounds” was a 2013 exhibition that used a celebration of people’s inherent desire to play to transform the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center into a collection of play areas where creativity was boundless and experimentation was the norm.
The exhibition focused on imagination to encourage interaction, placing the visitor in the roles of player, expert, creator, and collaborator. Based on these ideas and humanity’s inherent need to know, do, and assign value, Cocolab created “Beats of Hidden Cells,” an analog toy inspired by nature that came alive when approached and/or touched.
The exhibition was conceived of, curated, and launched by Héctor Ayuso to coincide with OFFF Cincinnati, a creative event that explores design and technology.
