Outside is an interactive installation created by Cocolab in 2017 for the music and technology festival Day for Night, an event that seeks to reintroduce visual art into large-format music events.
This installation is a collective experience that strives to expand human connections through the possibilities handed to us by technology. It inspires a conversation between human beings and an artificially living work of art. Outside is a mechanical being that reacts to the environment through previously programmed emotions that express themselves with light, movement and sound.
This piece shared the line-up with renowned artists including Nine Inch Nails, Thom Yorke, Ryoji Ikeda and Matthew Schreiber, highlighting the possibilities intrinsic in the intersection of different narrative resources and new ideas.
